Lilleheden Significantly Boosts Production
Major changes are currently taking place in the production of laminated timber manufacturer Lilleheden. The company has not only invested a double-digit million amount in a brand new automation system, aimed at meeting the growing demand for timber construction and strengthening the manufacturer’s position in the project market. The company has also hired a new production director to help set the future strategic direction.
Lilleheden, based in Hirtshals and Denmark’s leading manufacturer of laminated timber, has recently invested a double-digit million amount in a brand new production facility, a CNC-controlled fully automated processing center. This automates a large part of the shaping of laminated timber and multiplies the processing capacity, ensuring the company can continue to meet the increasing demand for construction-grade laminated timber.
“We are seeing a growing demand for laminated timber in larger construction projects, and our production needs to be able to meet this demand – both now and in the future. Timber is generally gaining ground, which means we have enormous sales and development potential that we want to realize,” says Lilleheden’s CEO, Hans Henrik von Platen-Hallermund. He continues:
“As part of this, we have invested in a new CNC machine that multiplies our processing capacity. It automates significant parts of our shaping process and can efficiently produce laminated timber constructions with complex details and assemblies based on three-dimensional design software. This allows us not only to create even more precise and customized solutions, but we can also do it significantly faster, enabling us to take on both more and larger projects.”
New Leadership Appointment
In addition to investing in the new facility, the company has also just hired a new production director, Brian Søndergaard Hansen from Hobro. He brings more than 30 years of experience from the construction industry, and his appointment is welcomed by Lilleheden’s CEO.
“Brian will be a great asset in the continued development of Lilleheden and the realization of the business opportunities we are now facing. He has experience in production, timber, construction, and leadership, which is a perfect fit for Lilleheden and the needs we currently have. Additionally, he brings personal engagement and a development-focused approach that will undoubtedly drive our production in a very positive direction,” says Hans Henrik von Platen-Hallermund.
Brian Søndergaard Hansen has held several major and relevant positions in the construction industry over his 30-year career, including CEO, technical director, and sales and project manager at various construction companies. Now, he looks forward to diving into the tasks at Lilleheden.
“Lilleheden is facing a market that increasingly demands timber products, which means we have a significant change agenda ahead of us, where we, as a manufacturer, want to be involved earlier in construction projects. This requires both our project department, our salespeople, and especially the entire production setup, as we need to get even better at navigating the project market as a whole. It’s a really exciting challenge that I look forward to exploring further in the coming years,” says the new production director, Brian Søndergaard Hansen.
The new production facility has just been installed at the production site in Hirtshals, where all of Lilleheden’s laminated timber production takes place.
