Lilleheden udvider kapaciteten i produktionen og søger nye kolleger

Lilleheden prepares for the future of timber construction: Expands capacity and hires new colleagues

With a multi-million kroner investment in new automation, glulam producer Lilleheden is preparing to meet the growing demand for timber in the construction industry—while also strengthening its position as Denmark’s leading supplier of glulam. The capacity expansion has already increased productivity significantly, which is now clearly felt on the production floor. Machines are running at full speed, and the team is growing. As a result, the company is now looking for more colleagues to join its production.

The North Jutland-based glulam producer has invested in a brand-new production facility—a fully automated, CNC-controlled processing center. The facility automates a large portion of the process where raw glulam is machined and customized to fit specific construction designs. With this new setup, production capacity is multiplied, ensuring that Lilleheden can continue to meet the rising demand for Danish-produced glulam. And that requires more hands on deck.

Hiring for day and night shifts

The next step is a major recruitment effort, which is already underway. Lilleheden aims to attract 5–10 new employees to its production site in Hirtshals:

We’re currently looking for new team members—especially for our production—who want to be part of our growth journey. We need colleagues with practical skills and a hands-on mindset, regardless of which part of the production they’ll be working in. Initially, we’re hiring for our day shift, but we’re also considering adding a night shift to keep up with the increasing demand,” says Brian Søndergaard Hansen, Production Director at Lilleheden.

The automation hasn’t just boosted production—it has also improved working conditions and made it easier to onboard new employees, regardless of their background. At Lilleheden, there is a need for both skilled and unskilled workers—from carpenters and production technicians to people who have never worked with wood before.

You don’t need prior experience in the timber industry to join our team. We have employees from all sorts of backgrounds—from butchers and industrial operators to trained carpenters. What they all have in common is that they receive thorough training from an experienced colleague. If you enjoy working with wood and want to be part of Lilleheden, don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we’ll find where your skills fit best,” says the Production Director.
