New Industry Association Aims to Make Bio-Based Insulation the New Standard
The Industry Association for Bio-Based Insulation Materials is the name of a newly established industry association that aims to serve as the central hub for knowledge and documentation in the field. The association will work towards making bio-based insulation materials the standard choice in the construction industry. Carsten Lundh Olesen, CEO of Nviro, will serve as the chairperson of the association.
A brand-new industry association has just been established. It is the Industry Association for Bio-Based Insulation Materials, founded by a group of insulation material manufacturers and suppliers joining forces to promote the use of sustainable insulation solutions.
“The association was actually formed at the initiative and request of other industry players, who pointed out that we would stand much stronger together. We, therefore, gathered representatives from various insulation material manufacturers and suppliers, who also saw the advantages of having a common language and a unified voice,” explains Carsten Lundh Olesen, CEO of Nviro and now chairperson of the Industry Association for Bio-Based Insulation Materials.
“This has now resulted in the creation of the Industry Association for Bio-Based Insulation Materials. Our goal is to become the natural reference point for bio-based insulation materials in Denmark, and our primary mission is to make bio-based insulation a standard choice in the construction industry for the benefit of the environment. At the same time, we also want to be the preferred hub for knowledge, documentation, and guidance on applications, making it easier for the construction industry to make sustainable choices,” Carsten Lundh Olesen continues.
Initially, the association consists of six leading companies in the field, working with various bio-based insulation solutions, including cellulose fiber, wood fiber, hemp, and straw. Besides Nviro, the founding members include ThermoflocDK, Wennerth Wood, NPI, Isodan, and EcoCocon.
“We are a team of six strong players in the industry, each bringing valuable expertise and experience to advance sustainable construction in Denmark. However, we are naturally open to welcoming new members who align with our vision. The more we are, the stronger we stand in terms of strengthening documentation and increasing the availability of bio-based materials,” says Carsten Lundh Olesen.
Alongside Carsten Lundh Olesen, Betina Voss, Sales Manager at ThermoflocDK, will take on the role of Vice Chairperson of the association.
