Nordic Wood Industries acquires HusCompagniet’s element production
One of Denmark’s leading manufacturers of wood-based construction solutions, Nordic Wood Industries, has entered into an agreement with HusCompagniet to acquire HusCompagniet Production A/S, the company’s element production facility located in Esbjerg. Going forward, the activities will be anchored within Roust Element, which produces prefabricated timber-based wall and roof elements at scale, led by CEO Kasper Bregendahl.
The acquisition, which has just been announced, takes effect immediately and means that HusCompagniet Production’s operations will be operationally integrated into Roust Element, based in Roust near Esbjerg.
“We are very pleased to share this positive news. First and foremost, we will be strengthening the Roust Element team with many skilled colleagues. At the same time, this gives us a significantly stronger position in the market for timber-based elements and expands our sales of roof modules for single-family homes, benefiting both customers and employees. HusCompagniet and Nordic Wood Industries have had a close relationship for many years, and we have supplied trusses, glulam and roof modules to HusCompagniet for years. This acquisition marks an important step in consolidating and strengthening our own industrial setup, where we can leverage shared competencies, capacity and experience across the group,” says Holger C. Hansen, Group CEO of Nordic Wood Industries.
All 93 employees from HusCompagniet Production will continue in the new setup. At the same time, the strong collaboration with HusCompagniet will continue under a new strategic partnership agreement.
“At HusCompagniet, we have reviewed our market approach and strategic direction for our townhouse business to sharpen our focus on our core competencies and our ability to deliver high-quality homes. We are pleased to secure a long-term perspective for the factory and our skilled employees with a committed owner who has the right expertise and experience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our many great colleagues at the Esbjerg factory for their dedication and commitment. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and building on our long-standing relationship with Nordic Wood Industries, which has been a trusted supplier of timber elements for many years,” says Martin Ravn-Nielsen, Group CEO of HusCompagniet.
Strong growth in demand for prefabricated timber construction
In the coming period, Nordic Wood Industries will focus on ensuring a smooth transition for employees and establishing shared workflows and systems. According to Kasper Bregendahl, CEO of Roust Element, the ambition is to create a more scalable and robust production setup that can support the group’s future growth and increasing activity levels.
“We are looking into a strong and growing market. There is significant demand for timber-based prefabricated elements, and with the acquisition of HusCompagniet’s element production, we are even better positioned with skilled people, strong competencies and new technology. The acquired operations are already well advanced in terms of factory automation. This significantly strengthens our position in the market to the benefit of our customers, at a time when stricter LCA requirements, the green transition and the demand for faster construction timelines are accelerating. We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues into the group and building an even more competitive platform,” says Kasper Bregendahl.
Kasper Bregendahl also emphasizes that customers of HusCompagniet Production will not experience any changes to their current agreements or collaborations.
