Palsgaard Spær sharpens strategic focus on prefabricated timber elements
Denmark’s largest roof truss manufacturer is now launching LetElementer as an independent business unit. With this move, the company is increasing its focus on prefabricated timber wall frames and roof modules for professional clients – while also marking a strategic investment in a growing market.
Palsgaard Spær is experiencing strong demand for both roof trusses and lightweight prefabricated timber elements. Historically, element production has represented a smaller part of the company’s overall business. However, with rising demand for prefabricated solutions, the company sees significant growth potential.
Palsgaard Spær is therefore now structuring its business into two areas: Palsgaard Spær, which continues to produce roof trusses, and LetElementer, which produces prefabricated timber wall frames and roof modules and will operate with its own organisation and market focus.
“We are seeing increasing interest from the market – not least from players who have traditionally worked with concrete elements. This makes it the right time to establish LetElementer as an independent part of Palsgaard Spær and invest in developing this business area and unlocking its growth potential,” says Lars Mynderup, CEO of Palsgaard Spær. He adds:
“From an organisational perspective, it also makes good sense, as element production is a different type of business that requires a different setup and workflows compared to our traditional truss production. This allows us to work even more focused on optimising processes and strengthening LetElementer’s position as a flexible and fast timber solution that can compete in the market – both on quality and price. The lightweight timber elements are typically non-insulated and have a lower level of completion than, for example, timber elements from Roust Element, but this also enables shorter delivery times.”
New Head of Department to drive development
To lead LetElementer, Palsgaard Spær has appointed 56-year-old Steen Elkær as Head of Department. He brings many years of experience from the timber industry, most recently with a focus on timber element production.
“I have worked in the timber industry for many years, and in recent years I have focused on element production. LetElementer has great potential, and my task is to help grow the business. We have previously been somewhat ‘hidden’ within the organisation, but now we have our own brand and a clear direction,” says Steen Elkær.
LetElementer is produced in Hampen, where Palsgaard Spær has dedicated production facilities. In recent months, the company has been working to optimise production through new investments in equipment and improved workflows.
“LetElementer is not just a new name – it is a strategic focus area for us. We believe we can make a real difference in the market,” concludes Lars Mynderup.
